Mountain Sun Hike-a-thon
Do you or your organization want to help? Sponsor a class! You can pledge a dollar amount per mile hiked by the students or give a set amount. All classes are participating.
Parents, the 2024 Spring Hike-a-thon is coming up! Get geared up to participate March 11-31. Students will find sponsors who can pay them by the mile or a set amount. Students and their families then hike and record miles during the hike-a-thon period. After it concludes on March 31, families gather the money earned and bring in forms and money to the school. Classes will be recognized for most miles hiked, most sponsorships collected, and more!
Guidelines:
Any walking or hiking counts. If your family is hiking in the forest with boots and trekking poles, that's great! If your family takes an evening walk around the neighborhood, that counts too! (Coyote students are encouraged to track their miles walked during the NYC excursion.) Due to popular demand, biking can count as well. Move your body, be active, and record those miles!
Please have your child find sponsors (friends, relatives, neighbors, etc.) to sponsor them based on the miles they intend to walk or pledge a specific amount to donate.
Use the Hike-a-thon form to record your sponsor information and use the back side to log the miles walked by your child between March 11 - March 31.
Collect the money from sponsors. Out-of-town sponsors can Venmo you or send checks. Checks should be made out to MSCS.
The child should send in the forms and money by April 5, 2024.
