Step 2: Schedule a Visit
The admission process at Mountain Sun is designed for you to learn more about the school and our community and for our teachers and students to learn more about your family. It is the beginning of what we hope to be a lifelong connection. Visiting our campus and classrooms is the best way to get to know Mountain Sun.
Please click here to schedule an initial parent conversation and visit. If there is a particular date or time not listed as available, please call 828-885-2555 or email us.
As part of this first visit, we will discuss your child’s learning styles, strengths and challenges, your questions and expectations, and how we can begin to work together to provide the best learning environment for your child.
Step 3: Submit an Application
Parents are invited to complete and submit an online application form through our system. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for available spaces. Currently enrolled families will submit re-enrollment forms in February, and after that time any available spaces may be offered to new applicants. Please note: we are only accepting applications for the 2025-26 school year. All future inquiries need to reach out to our office.
A non-refundable application fee of $50 is due with the application and a signed form authorizing the request and release of records from your child’s previous school should accompany the application if applicable. All information will be kept confidential.
The Child’s Visit: After the initial application review, your child may be invited to spend part of a school day in the classroom if space is available. This allows your child to experience the classroom environment and allows our teacher to discover more about your child.
Step 4: Enrollment
If we mutually agree that Mountain Sun Community School is a good place for your child and family to learn, grow, and thrive, an enrollment agreement will be offered and should be returned no later than 2 weeks following acceptance.
This agreement should be accompanied by a non-refundable enrollment deposit of $250 for preschool children and $500 for Kindergarten through Middle School students. This deposit amount will apply toward the full tuition balance.
A signed enrollment agreement and deposit secures a place for your student. This is also a commitment to pay the full annual tuition and for your child to attend for the full school year.
TUITION & AFFORDABILITY
Mountain Sun has always been committed to keeping tuition levels as affordable as possible and strive for a diverse population of children and families.
